And due to them [i.e., the wives] is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men [i.e., husbands] have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise. ”<br/><br/>Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat 228 (Urdu Translation): “ ان کے خاوند اس مدت میں انہیں لوٹا لینے کے پورے حقدار ہیں اگر ان کا اراده اصلاح کا ہو۔ اور عورتوں کے بھی ویسے ہی حق ہیں جیسے ان پر مردوں کے ہیں اچھائی کے ساتھ۔ ہاں مردوں کو عورتوں پر فضلیت ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ غالب ہے حکمت واﻻ ہے۔ ”<br/><br/>The English translation by Saheeh International and the Urdu translation by Maulana Muhammad Junagarhi, both published by the renowned King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex (KFGQPC). And remember the favor of Allāh upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and wisdom [i.e., the Prophet's sunnah] by which He instructs you. Then [after that], either keep [her] in an acceptable manner or release [her] with good treatment.
