RefCam footage from Crystal Palace's victory over Manchester United has been released.

The footage taken was not included during the live broadcast of the game, as it is set to be included in a program designed to offer, further insight and education into the demands of officiating in the Premier League, which will air at a later date.

However, some clips taken from the RefCam during the game have since been showcased online, including the official's decision to deny Palace a penalty.

After receiving a pass from Eberechi Eze, Tyrick Mitchell skips past Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro and drives towards the United goal.

In a Premier League first, referee Jarred Gillett wore a “RefCam” during Palace v Man Utd.

The use of ‘RefCam’ was a one-off that had the full permission of The IFAB. The filming will form part of an educational program highlighting the important role of the referee.

Mitchell's run abruptly comes to an end after he collides with Jonny Evans, leading to penalty appeals from the Palace players.

Gillett is having none of it though, and can be heard on the clip immediately remarking upon the collision: 'No no, no way. He's run into him for me. The attacker runs into Evans. That's how I read it.'

The video assistant referee then informs Gillet that VAR is conducting a check for a possible penalty before promptly informing him that they were confident that a foul had not taken place.

Other fascinating clips from the footage shown on the Premier League's website included Gillet issuing pre-match instructions to the captains of both clubs.

'Alright lads, you're the captains. I expect you to lead by example and manage your players if you can.' Gillett told Casemiro and Joachim Andersen before kick-off.

While Palace would be denied a penalty, Oliver Glasner's side were in complete control at Selhurst Park.

Michael Olise gave the Eagles the lead 12 minutes before Jean-Philippe Mateta doubled their advantage before the interval.

Mitchell added a third just before the hour mark before Olise added insult to injury to hand Erik ten Hag one of the most humiliating defeats since he arrived at the club in 2022.

While Monday's clash marked the first utilization in a Premier League clash, the concept of officials wearing mounted cameras during games to offer fans a unique perspective is not a new one.

During a pre-season friendly between Chelsea and Brighton in July, referee Rob Jones wore a camera mounted on his chest as the Blues ran out 4-3 winners in Philadelphia.

A chest-mounted camera was also used in the clash between Arsenal and the MLS All-Stars in pre-season, with clips later uploaded online from the referee's perspective.

A head-mounted RefCam has also been introduced in the German top flight this season, with match official Daniel Schlager wearing one during the 2-2 draw between Frankfurt and Wolfsburg in February.

Thomas Tuchel has torn into the officials of Bayern Munich's Champions League semi-final tie against Real Madrid after his side was denied a potential late equalizer.

Bayern crashed out of the Champions League dramatically on Wednesday night, leading the tie with three minutes to go but conceding two late goals to Joselu as Madrid booked their place at Wembley at the start of June.

But the former Stoke forward's strikes were only half the story, with Matthijs De Ligt netting in the 13th minute of injury time, only for Polish referee Szymon Marciniak to have blown his whistle for offside moments before.

Replays showed that the call was extremely tight, with Bayern's Noussair Mazraoui appearing at first glance to be onside despite the call. Due to the whistle already being blown, VAR could not intervene, with officials told to delay their calls in case they were wrong.

Tuchel, speaking to TNT Sports, revealed the assistant referee had apologized to him for flagging early in a move that could have cost his team the game.

'That was an absolute disaster,' the German said. 'A violation of the rules.

'This scene must be played out to the end. That's the rule. The linesman made the mistake, and the referee made the second mistake.

'We were almost there and a very unusual mistake of the best player for the equalizer, then we conceded in a very narrow decision in stoppage time. Then we scored one and it was a disastrous decision from the linesman and the referee, so it feels almost like a betrayal in the end because of that decision.

'The linesman said sorry. That does not help at that kind of level, to raise the flag in a decision like this, in a close decision at the last minute. The referee as well, does not have to whistle, he sees that we win the second ball, and he sees that we get the shot away. To whistle is a very, very bad decision.

'It is against the rules and it is a bad decision from both of them. It is a disaster, tough to swallow, but it is the way it is.'

He added: 'Having the balls to raise the flag in a situation like that is a big mistake. And then the referee, when he saw that we won the rebound, decided to whistle. It wouldn't have happened the other way round.

'We accept the apology (from the linesman) but this is not the time to apologize. It's the semi-finals and it's not the time to make those sort of mistakes.'

De Ligt had led the Bayern protests on the pitch and echoed his manager's comments post-match in that he too had received an apology from the officials.

Bayern will now go trophyless for the season for the first time in over a decade.

'We all know the rules if the offside is not clear then we have to play on,' said the Dutch defender. 'It's a disgrace that it happened against us and not for us at the other end when Joselu was almost offside and the game was allowed to continue.

'A decision like that in the last minute is a mistake It's always easy to talk about the referee after the game but this time it's

Bayer Leverkusen has made history. The Bundesliga Champions have set a new European record of 49 games unbeaten after Josip Stanisic netted yet another last-gasp equalizer to seal a 2-2 draw with Roma.

Stanisic, 24, scored with the last kick of the game in the 97th minute to secure a 4-2 aggregate win over the Italians, booking their place in the Europa League final.

Xabi Alonso's side doesn't know when they are beaten, they were 2-0 down heading into the final 10 minutes, but after an own goal from Gianluca Mancini and then Stanisic's strike, they have now surpassed Benfica's 59-year record.

The last time Leverkusen tasted defeat was on the final day of the 2022-23 season, losing 3-0 to VfL Bochum.

They are now on the cusp of an unprecedented treble, having already won a first-ever Bundesliga title, with the DFB Pokal final, and now a date with Atalanta in Dublin, still to come.

'You see the desire from the team,' said Granit Xhaka, who assisted the late equalizer, to TNT Sports.

He added: 'Even after 2-1, 90 minutes, and then extra time, we didn't want to slow down the game, we wanted to score the second goal to be unbeaten. We are proud of it.'

Alonso was proud of the character and calmness his side showed in scoring the late equalizer but was aware that one day, the late goal wouldn't come.

'It will finish sometime,' he admitted to TNT Sports. 'Hopefully, it's not in the coming games, but that's football.

'We had so many chances that we could have scored before, but we kept pushing, kept creating chances.'

Alonso's side have a knack for making it hard for themselves, and they did so again, letting their two-goal advantage over Roma from the first leg slip.

The Italian side took a surprise lead from the penalty spot two minutes before half-time after Sardar Azmoun was hauled down by Jonathan Tah. Leandro Paredes stepped up and made no mistake.

Paredes then punished Leverkusen once again, netting another penalty in the 66th minute after Adam Hlozek was adjudged to have handled the ball following a Roma corner.

However, Leverkusen never gave up, and they retook the lead in the tie when Gianluca Mancini headed unconventionally into his own net eight minutes from time.

Then came the moment of truth. As time was seemingly out, Stanisic cut in from the right-hand side and slid a low strike past Mile Svilar to net Leverkusen's 17th stoppage-time goal of the season.

The Croatia international's strike is the biggest of all 17 as it created history, and the Celebrations that followed it showed just that.

Staff and players on the bench raced over to Stanisic, and at full-time a gleaming Alonso sped onto the pitch to celebrate with all of his team.

Before tonight, Leverkusen sat level with Benfica for the longest unbeaten run across all competitions, since the introduction of UEFA club competitions, in European football history.

Footage has emerged of Rio Ferdinand telling Antonio Rudiger that Real Madrid's second goal against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night was offside.

After a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, Bayern went ahead through Alphonso Davies.

Real equalised through substitute Joselu and the striker then found the net again in the first minute of stoppage time.

It initially appeared as though Joselu's second goal was going to be ruled out for offside, with Ferdinand informing Rudiger as such.

However, VAR then intervened and the goal was eventually allowed to stand, with Real securing their place in the final.

Ferdinand revealed that he had planned a celebration with Rudiger, which he unfortunately wasn't able to show off.

Ferdinand said on TNT Sports: 'As he was coming to me, I was thinking: 'Right, we've got a celebration planned here, me and Rudiger.

'But I saw the flag go up in the corner of my eye and I said: 'Get back on the pitch, get back on the pitch.'

'Unfortunately, we weren't able to show the celebration we had planned over the last couple of days. Maybe get there another time.'

There was further VAR controversy to come, with Bayern Munich's Matthijs De Ligt controversially having a late equalizer ruled out after Noussair Mazraoui was deemed to be offside.

Following their victory, Real are now through to the Champions League final, in which they will face Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on June 1.

Rudiger previously won the competition with Chelsea in 2021 and will now be looking to do so with Real.
