Description: Pieter Van Baal from the Institute of Medical Technology Assessment (iMTA), Erasmus University Rotterdam, confronts NICE decision rules with the current practice of excluding costs of unrelated medical care. He argues that given the decision rules of NICE, the costs of unrelated medical care should be routinely included and that these can have a major impact on the cost-effectiveness estimates and the consistent exclusion of these costs is not an option.nnCHE Homepage: york.ac.uk/che/
