Description: on the access track to origma reserve one afternoon, I came across the carcass of a little pied cormorant that had been felled by a raptor and was being minutely butchered by a colony of the industrious australian meat ant, iridomyrmex purpureus...nnwith talon and beak, the raptor had carefully excised and consumed the breast meat of the slain waterbird, which would have been killed on the wing and knocked from the sky while flying between waterholes...nnthe poignant remains of the fresh carcass
